About The Position

The Chemical Production Supervisor oversees daily production workflows, safety compliance, and team performance at the plant. This role requires hands-on leadership balancing administrative duties with active, on-the-floor support for hourly staff in fertilizer batching, tanker loading, process troubleshooting, and routine safety audits.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in a chemical, fertilizer, wine or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of batch processing and hazardous chemical handling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, train, and motivate hourly workforces in high-pressure settings.
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry at least 55 lbs. for short distances.
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Successfully pass background and drug screen.
  • Exposure to dirt, noise, and hazardous chemicals daily. It will require safety equipment and/or precautions.
  • Must meet Physical Fit Test requirements to wear a respirator.
  • Cannot have any facial hair that may interfere with a respirator seal.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on Team Leadership: Direct, mentor, and work alongside hourly operators on the production floor. Assist with troubleshooting equipment, managing shift schedules, and conducting on-the-job training.
  • Batch Operations Oversight: Monitor batch reactions directly from the floor. Ensure all chemical mixtures, formulas, and processing steps yield high-quality fertilizer.
  • Loading & Unloading Operations: Actively supervise and assist with the safe, compliant transfer of raw materials and finished chemicals via tanker trucks, bubbles and other package types. Enforce and personally model proper spill containment and PPE protocols.
  • Safety & Compliance Audits: Perform routine safety and operational audits. Ensure facility compliance with OSHA, EPA, and internal EHS guidelines through regular floor walkthroughs and adherence to SOPs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement methodologies to reduce waste, minimize downtime, boost equipment reliability and maintain a safe work environment.
