About The Position

The Chemical Process Operator provides support to the production department by performing essential duties to maintain a clean and organized work area, breaking down and cleaning work areas at the end of shifts, and completing necessary training. The role emphasizes a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and efficiency within the company team. Operators are responsible for accurate documentation, labeling, and assembly of components for production jobs, while adhering to all safety requirements and standards.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Performs well in a team environment and must be willing to cross train in other cells, and maintain 6S lean practices.
  • Conforms to all safety standards set forth by Chromalloy Georgia to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Basic reading, writing, and some advanced arithmetic skills required.
  • Ability to read, interpret, blueprints and schematics
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to obtain a Respirator medical clearance and ability to wear a Respirator
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, by following daily housekeeping and 6S standards
  • Break down and clean all work areas at the end of shift
  • Complete any training needed to perform your essential duties.
  • Complete any job-specific quality training deemed necessary by the quality department
  • Complete and maintain 6S training, and operation of job-specific machines, tools, and gauges
  • Continue to learn Production Department procedures
  • Promote and maintain a culture and attitude of continuous improvement, working within the company team to make it a more efficient, safer, and enjoyable place to work.
  • Properly label and document finished and/or in process goods.
  • Accurately complete all production paperwork.
  • Alert material handlers, if necessary as to what material you will need next and approximately how long before you will need it.
  • Put the previous job's completed order in the proper place for distribution.
  • Assemble all necessary components for the next job.
  • Know the safety and operation of the plant and specific work area.
  • Follow all safety requirements required by company policy.
