About The Position

The Chemical Packaging Technician is responsible for supporting chemical packaging operations, Ultra-High Purity (UHP) cylinder preparation activities, and general production support functions in accordance with company quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role requires flexibility to support operational needs across packaging, staging, maintenance support, and material handling activities while maintaining compliance with ISO, cGMP, GDP, environmental, and safety requirements. The position operates in a fast-paced manufacturing and chemical handling environment and requires strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and quality management system standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Reliable transportation, ability and willingness to travel between Ereztech’s SKV and SFL locations as business needs require.
  • Must possess a current DOT certification or successfully obtain DOT certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to follow detailed written procedures and work instructions.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to safely handle chemicals and hazardous materials.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Flexibility to support changing operational priorities.
  • Ability to accurately complete production and quality documentation.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and electronic documentation.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift throughout scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to work around chemicals, fumes, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment safely.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or coursework in chemistry, manufacturing, engineering technology, or related field preferred.
  • Current IATA and ICAO Dangerous Goods certifications preferred.
  • Prior manufacturing, chemical handling, packaging, or production experience preferred.
  • Experience handling hazardous materials or operating within ISO or cGMP environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform precision cleaning of Ultra-High Purity (UHP) metal cylinders and specialty containers in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Conduct vacuum and pressure leak testing on stainless steel cylinders, valves, and associated components to verify seal integrity prior to filling.
  • Inspect gaskets, dip tubes, VCR fittings, and related components for wear, contamination, or chemical degradation.
  • Stage and prepare specialized cylinders and containers for organometallic and electronic-grade chemical service.
  • Maintain accurate cleaning, inspection, and testing records in accordance with quality system requirements.
  • Safely weigh, portion, package, label, and prepare liquid and powder chemical products using calibrated balances and approved packaging procedures.
  • Follow approved batch documentation, work instructions, and packaging procedures.
  • Verify product labeling accuracy and packaging integrity prior to shipment or storage.
  • Support inventory movement and material staging activities as required.
  • Operate powered pallet jacks and other approved material handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Provide operational support during equipment downtime, line changeovers, and production interruptions.
  • Assist with general production support activities including raw material staging, housekeeping, waste management, and workspace organization.
  • Support cross-functional operational needs as directed by production leadership.
  • Maintain readiness to transition between packaging, production support, and maintenance assistance activities based on business demands.
  • Travel between Ereztech’s Saukville (SKV) and Sheboygan Falls (SFL) locations as needed to support operational and business requirements.
  • Comply with all company safety policies, chemical handling procedures, and environmental regulations.
  • Properly utilize required PPE including respirators, Tyvek suits, gloves, face shields, and other safety equipment.
  • Operate within chemical hoods, controlled environments, and hazardous material handling areas safely.
  • Participate in required safety, quality, and compliance training.
  • Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, equipment malfunctions, or quality deviations to supervision.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO, cGMP, GDP, and internal quality management system requirements.
  • Complete required production, cleaning, inspection, and packaging documentation accurately and legibly.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action activities as assigned.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
