About The Position

The Chemical Operator is responsible for maintaining the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of production activities within the Advanced Lithium Metals dry room environment. This role supports manufacturing processes by operating equipment, monitoring product quality, maintaining safety standards, and contributing to production goals. Employees in this role will transition to a rotating day/night shift schedule after completing the required training phase.

Requirements

  • Ability to read operational procedures and equipment schematics
  • Ability to stand and work on feet for up to 12-hour shifts
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in electrically classified areas
  • Ability to wear required PPE and respirators
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Basic understanding of SAP

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior chemical manufacturing or industrial production experience preferred
  • Forklift experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment aligned with the company’s Journey to Zero safety initiatives.
  • Understand and follow life-saving safety rules in daily operations.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and tailgate discussions.
  • Identify workplace hazards and proactively address safety concerns.
  • Demonstrate proper use of PPE based on chemical and mechanical hazards.
  • Successfully complete and maintain respiratory fit testing requirements.
  • Support a culture where employees are empowered to stop production if quality standards are at risk.
  • Read and follow department SOPs and operational procedures.
  • Package finished product according to strict product specifications.
  • Monitor production processes and adjust equipment settings to maintain product consistency.
  • Inspect finished products for defects and remove non-conforming materials.
  • Maintain department quality expectations and standards.
  • Support daily, monthly, and annual production goals.
  • Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment in a chemical production environment.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and help resolve production problems.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, including housekeeping and chemical usage documentation.
  • Monitor raw material and packaging inventory levels.
  • Identify opportunities for productivity improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and tractors safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain familiarity with industrial chemical manufacturing equipment.
  • Read equipment schematics and identify operational requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Complete housekeeping duties as required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with KPI tracking and departmental improvement plans.
