About The Position
This role involves operating chemical processes, ensuring product quality, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. The Chemical Operator will be responsible for various tasks related to plant operations, general duties, and quality control, working in a rotating shift schedule.
Requirements
- Comprehend written procedures and instructions.
- Perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division as required.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Complete written operator’s proficiency test for evaluation purposes before transferring to this job.
Responsibilities
- Read logbook and schedule daily.
- Accept direction from Supervisor and Managers.
- Follow valve-locking procedures.
- Charge batches correctly and efficiently.
- Produce product to required quality standards in a timely manner.
- Keep SPC data up-to-date.
- Perform product filtration.
- Ensure product purity when changing products.
- Remain on duty until relieved by the next shift Operator or given approval by the Plant Manager.
- Maintain housekeeping of the work area.
- Follow appropriate plant safety procedures.
- Perform additional duties as requested by Managers.
- Correctly and completely fill out batch sheets for each batch.
- Ensure quality within the reactor portion of the process, including prevention of product contamination, reproducible sampling, and correct information on documentation.
