About The Position

The 1st Shift Chemical Operator (6AM - 2:30PM) position creates chemical blends (Blending) in accordance with customer specifications. Assists in other areas of the plant as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Regularly required to stand and walk.
• Frequently required to use tools or controls and climb or balance.
• Frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 42 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and horizontally push up to 125 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow all established procedures and abide by all safety and quality guidelines.
• Verify the tank to be used for the chemical blend.
• Follow all instructions on the blending sheet to create the chemical blend.
• Connect all proper hoses to tanks and pumps.
• Record the lot number and amount of each additive used on each blending sheet.
• Present the blend sheet to the lab when finished.
• Communicate with the lab for blend approvals and/or corrections.
• Transfer approved product to storage vessel.
• Organize additive bins.
• Maintain the plant and warehouse in an organized, safe and clean manner.
• Control/maintain Tank Farm raw material tank levels and inventories.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on Tank Farm equipment.
• Conduct analytical testing to confirm blends meet quality specifications.
• Other duties may be assigned.
