About The Position

As an Operations Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant operations while supporting production, material handling, and facility activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum one (1) year of packaging, warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial operations experience.
  • Forklift certification/license required or ability to obtain certification.

  • Experience in manufacturing, packaging, chemical processing, or industrial operations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately complete reports, forms, and production documentation.
  • Effective collaboration with team members, supervisors, and cross-functional departments.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate ratios, percentages, and measurements used in manufacturing and inventory processes.
  • Basic proficiency with: Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Email applications SAP or similar inventory/production systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and operational issues.
  • Apply established procedures and sound judgment to resolve problems.
  • Recommend improvements that enhance safety, quality, and operational performance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 55 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other industrial equipment.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all job duties safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Follow quality, ISO, environmental, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor assigned production areas and identify operational issues.
  • Assist with equipment adjustments, minor repairs, and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Operate forklifts and heavy industrial equipment, including telescoping forklifts.
  • Enter maintenance notifications and coordinate maintenance support activities.
  • Support housekeeping, grounds maintenance, and plant-wide cleanup initiatives.
  • Participate in required training programs and assist in training team members.
  • Cross-train on multiple operational processes to support business needs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Operate automated packaging and material handling systems, including conveyors, elevators, screening systems, and bagging equipment.
  • Support product packaging, palletizing, labeling, wrapping, and inventory activities.
  • Follow packaging schedules and prepare materials and equipment for production runs.
  • Complete Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and work permits as required.
  • Maintain accurate quality, inventory, and production records.
  • Utilize SAP to confirm production and manage inventory transactions.
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation activities, including operating floor-scrubbing equipment.
  • Communicate production status and shift activities effectively.
  • Support production changeovers and equipment cleaning activities.
  • Assist with material transfers and process support activities.
  • Transfer products between railcars, trucks, and bulk containers.
  • Perform hole watch and fire watch responsibilities during maintenance and outage activities.
  • Complete tank and vessel cleanout activities when required.
  • Monitor and control manufacturing processes using automated process control systems.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and make operational adjustments to maintain process parameters.
  • Collect product samples and perform analytical testing.
  • Unload raw materials and support chemical handling operations.
  • Prepare solutions and operate filtration systems.
  • Load trucks, railcars, and bulk containers with finished products and raw materials.
