About The Position

WGNSTAR is seeking a Chemical Maintenance Technician 1 to work on systems and maintain the supply of chemicals and gases in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role involves operating chemical and gas distribution systems, handling and changing out containers, and performing troubleshooting and preventative/repair maintenance on related equipment. The position requires computer operation to support job functions and is a full-time role located in Austin, Texas.

Requirements

  • Must be comfortable with physical activity, including walking up to 5 miles per day and occasionally climbing ladders with fall protection.
  • Ability to work with chemicals, including using a Supplied Contained Breathing Air Respirator for short periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform tasks requiring bending, overhead reaching, and basic physical agility.
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on safety procedures.
  • May be required to walk up to 5+miles per day, able to be on feet for 8-10 hrs at a time, able to bend, twist, push/pull, crouch, kneel in confined spaces, work at heights, on a ladder, and lift up to 50-75 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a technical or maintenance role, ideally in a manufacturing or semiconductor environment.
  • Familiarity with chemical or gas handling and distribution systems.
  • Strong computer skills for system operation and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Work on systems and maintain supply of chemicals and gases to a semiconductor manufacturing environment that makes the chips used in electronic devices such as Smart Phones, LEDs, and Flat Screen TV's.
  • Operate assigned chemical and/or gas distribution systems.
  • Perform the handling and change-out of gas, chemical, and slurry containers.
  • Troubleshooting and preventative/repair maintenance on gas and chemical equipment.
  • Operate a computer to support job functions.
