About The Position

Conducts established activities of a chemical laboratory technician by performing the following duties for an industrial organization. Essential duties and Responsibilities include the following as they relate to mil-spec painting, anodizing types I, II, and III, chem film class 1A and 3, passivation and phosphate coatings. Other duties may be as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (AS) from a two-year College/University
  • Related experience and/or training in chemistry relating to industrial painting, anodizing, chem-film, passivation, and phosphate coatings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Test solutions used in anodizing and Chem-film processes for chemical concentrations.
  • Maintain chemical inventory stock to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Calibrate, setup, adjust and operate laboratory equipment and instruments such as microscopes, spectrophotometer, pH meter and other lab equipment.
  • Add chemicals or raw material to process solutions to correct or prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
  • Record test results in computer and maintain records, reports, files and related documentation.
  • Order laboratory supplies, materials, or equipment.
  • Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance.
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and facility.
  • Follow written procedures for Chemical hygiene safety.
