About The Position

The Chemical Handler is responsible for managing chemicals used in the production process, ensuring adherence to safety and operational procedures, and maintaining accurate inventory. This role involves hands-on work with chemicals, waste management, and supporting production schedules. The position requires a strong understanding of chemical processes, safety regulations, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Understanding of chemical processes.
  • Aptitude for mechanics.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A desire to work with team members to improve processes and product quality in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Willingness to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing protective gear when necessary.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs or more.

Nice To Haves

  • More education or experience in a related field may be required.
  • Experience working with forklifts may be preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieving, adding, and mixing chemicals used in the production process.
  • Reading, understanding, and following all Lab Operating Procedures (LOPs), ensuring all dumps and remakes (D&Rs) are completed properly.
  • Ensuring each chemical waste is properly labeled by OSHA standards.
  • Keeping chemical inventory goods up to date and providing inventory counts as needed.
  • Maintaining timing according to the production schedule to ensure on-time logistics.
  • Maintaining/assisting with electroless and wastewater treatment.
  • Assisting throughout the plant with housekeeping if needed.
  • Loading/unloading of chemical waste.
  • Reporting accidents, safety violations, or other concerns.
  • Meeting physical requirements of the position, including walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, climbing, crouching, operating tools, and wearing safety gear.
