About The Position

Parker Hannifin is seeking a Chemical Engineering Intern to support its Chemical Operations in Saegertown, Pennsylvania. The intern will carry out design and development assignments involving manufacturing equipment and processes, including reactors, mixers, and special equipment, to achieve desired production rates and quality standards. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams on assigned projects.

Requirements

• Be a rising junior or senior pursuing a BS/BA in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and analyze the cost and reliability of various equipment and processes.
• Study performance and troubleshoot existing tools and equipment, recommending improvements through redesign or modification.
• Estimate costs for assigned projects and develop satisfactory delivery schedules.
• Follow up to ensure project schedules are met.
• Create layouts and detail drawings for assigned equipment.
• Evaluate equipment and methods, identifying their advantages, disadvantages, and production capabilities.
• Recommend purchases needed to keep equipment properly maintained.
• Check the process capabilities of designed equipment and ensure it is properly maintained.
• Stay informed about emerging equipment and process developments that may improve manufacturing operations.
• Communicate and work with cross-functional teams on assigned projects.
