About The Position

Mycronic is a global high-tech company whose innovative solutions have been advancing electronics technology for over 40 years. We are looking for a Chemical Engineer to join Mycronic's Global Technologies division within our Applied Plasma business line (Surfx Technologies). Surfx Technologies is a fast-growing company that develops atmospheric argon plasma solutions for the high-volume manufacturing of integrated circuits, semiconductor packages, printed circuit boards, and other microelectronic devices. Our automated plasma systems provide highly effective surface cleaning, activation, and metal oxide removal, improving adhesion and product reliability. By utilizing our proprietary atmospheric argon plasma technology, customers produce assembled products that are less susceptible to corrosion, delamination, and bond failure throughout their service life. The Chemical Engineer role is ideal for an enthusiastic individual eager to join our engineering team and help bring innovative products from concept through production. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will contribute to the development, testing, and optimization of advanced atmospheric plasma technologies and surface treatment processes. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to solve real-world engineering challenges, work with cutting-edge technology, and grow professionally in a collaborative research, product development, and manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering, or Material Science.
  • 0 to 3 years’ of experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to customer sites as needed.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not offer visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct experiments by varying plasma process parameters (e.g., power, gas flow, treatment time, and standoff distance) to study the fundamental interactions between atmospheric plasma and wafers/substrates, and evaluate the impact on surface properties, process performance, and product reliability.
  • Support the development and optimization of atmospheric plasma processes and surface treatment applications.
  • Design and conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate plasma performance, material compatibility, and process effectiveness.
  • Design, set up, and execute product, process, and material tests to validate performance under real-world conditions; prepare technical reports to support product development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transition new products and processes from development into viable customer solutions.
  • Build and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to support continuous product improvements.
  • Acts as team player who is responsive to customers, coworkers and management with the ability to work independently.
