Requirements
- Certification by a recognized California DHCS required (such as CADC, SUDCC, CATC)
- Knowledge of substance abuse dynamics, problem, treatment modalities
- Working knowledge of psychological and physical symptomatology associated with chemical dependency
- Communication, individual and group therapy skills
- Skills in therapeutic support and confrontation with chemical dependency patients
- Skills in treatment planning, related documentation
- Current BLS for healthcare provider card required upon hire
- Therapeutic Options™ (TOT) to be obtained prior to providing direct patient care without a preceptor
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' stage and extent of chemical use
- Conducts didactic and other appropriate patient groups
- Guide patients in meeting treatment goals
- Develops and implements a plan of treatment, in conjunction with members of multi-disciplinary team
