About The Position

The purpose of this position is to develop, optimize, and apply specialized coatings to protect surfaces of manufactured products. This role involves defining engineering requirements, troubleshooting application processes, and ensuring compliance with Marle’s quality and environmental standards, as well as regulatory and customer specifications.

Requirements

  • College degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemistry
  • 2+ years of experience in medical or industrial manufacturing environment
  • College graduate under direct supervision of the current engineer (“in training”)
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop and standardize coating processes for Marle’s current (chrome, anodizing and PVD) and new processes.
  • Conduct failure analysis and implement correction actions using root cause analysis.
  • Research, select and test coating materials to improve durability.
  • Oversee installation and operation of manual and automated coating equipment.
  • Ensure processes meet environmental and safety regulations, comply with federal and local regulatory requirements and that proper personal protective equipment is available and utilized by operators.
  • Train and develop operators to perform coating processes within specification and safely.
  • Determine whether product conforms to product specifications.
  • Promote continuous improvement of process under his/her supervision.
  • Follow Marle’s safety and environmental procedures.
  • Follow written and verbal directions from manager and/or company officers.
  • Perform non-routine tasks assigned by manager and/or company officers.
