PURPOSE: Oversees all culinary services at the Word of Life Florida Campus EXPECTATIONS: Attend weekly Staff Devotions and all other required meetings Wear designated staff uniform or approved alternative Daily communication with the Food Service Manager Daily Utilization of Word of Life’s Software Platforms Microsoft Office - Email & Calendar Paycom - Human Resources, Scheduling & Payroll Monday.com - Workflow & Team Collaboration Staff Portal – Financials, Registration, Reservations Utilize your Paycom schedule and accomplish your work within scheduled hours. Interact with your supervisor if more time is required. Occasional ministry team outing, or other ministry related assignment This job requires the staff member to be able to lift boxes that weigh up to 30 pounds on occasion. It may also require bending, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, grasping and repetitive motions. Teach Culinary skills to Fellow Team Members Be a coach toward Food Prep staff, Hostess, student workers and volunteers Make it a goal to encourage fellow chefs and exhort toward excellence Provide excellent food and high-energy dining experience for students, campers, and guests… even other staff! Follow and serve Menu accurately along with future Recipe Development Monitor quality and quantity of end results to ensure a consistent product and service level from year to year. Manage and participate in the dining room experience (flow, food placement, cleanliness, overall experience) Visit the dining room during every meal and visit tables at random to interact with Students, Campers, Guests, or Staff about their dining experience Steward Culinary resources (dining rooms, kitchens, equipment etc. with integrity and with a long-term mindset. Maintain and care for resources and equipment to get the full life expectancy of the equipment, or longer. Regular cleaning and degreasing of food service equipment Make recommendations for equipment needs and facility improvements. Interact with vendors (including sales reps and delivery drivers) in a professional manner. Maintain the applicable portions of the FL State Health Code. Make progress and improvements upon the Direction of Food Service Manager, Director of Operations, and VP of Florida Ministries Qualifications A vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. A commitment to the principles of the Word of God. Agree with Word of Life’s Mission, Statement of Faith and Standard of Conduct. A God-given call into ministry. Must be competent in all aspects of culinary services Serve-Safe Certification preferred Formal Culinary training preferred (2-years min. experience in lieu of formal training)
