We are hiring a Chef at our Station Square PriceSmart Foods location in Burnaby, BC. The successful candidate must have open availability and be available for 40 hours per week.

Requirements

Experience making a variety of Asian hot foods and cold foods including sushi, dim sum, BBQ and stir fry.
Good working knowledge of W.H.I.M.I.S. and Food Safe Certificate.
A passion for great food and providing outstanding customer service.
A strong work ethic and “let’s get it done” attitude.
Integrity, enthusiasm, and willingness to Go the Extra Mile.

Nice To Haves

Retail customer service experience
Fluent in Mandarin and/or Cantonese

Responsibilities

Developing, implementing, executing and maintaining new and existing menu items.
Preparing, cooking, and executing menu items and specials.
Planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities within the department.
Training, educating and supervising team member on menu items and procedures.
Inventory control with a focus on quality.
Managing inventory to minimize food waste and spoilage.
Control shrinks by utilizing par levels, writing proper orders or portion control.
Ordering and effectively controlling all kitchen related costs (such as food, labour, shrinks, margin and packaging) to achieve targeted KPIs.
Ensuring accurate stocktaking in the department.
