As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef Supervisor to join our culinary team.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Chef or Sous Chef in a senior living community or similar environment.
Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred.
Current SERV Safe Food Manager Certification.
Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse kitchen team.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
A minimum of three years’ experience in the administration of food services systems.
Ability to create diverse and appealing menus while accommodating dietary restrictions.
Flexibility to adapt to changing resident preferences and seasonal ingredients.
Knowledge of and commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards in the kitchen.
Familiarity with regulations related to food handling and sanitation.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to interact with residents, staff, and families with empathy and professionalism.

Responsibilities

Culinary Leadership: Lead and supervise the kitchen staff to ensure a high standard of culinary excellence. Develop and implement creative and well-balanced menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of Christwood's residents.
Meal Preparation and Presentation: Oversee the preparation and presentation of meals, ensuring they meet quality and nutritional standards. Monitor portion control and maintain consistency in taste, texture, and appearance.
Quality Control: Implement and enforce health and safety standards in the kitchen. Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with sanitation regulations and guidelines. Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with procurement to maintain a well-stocked kitchen.
Staff Training and Development: Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff to enhance their skills and knowledge. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and open communication.
Resident Interaction: Collaborate with the dining services team to gather resident feedback and incorporate preferences into menu planning. Address resident concerns or special dietary requirements with professionalism and sensitivity.
Administrative Duties: Assist in budget management, cost control, and financial reporting related to the kitchen operations. Maintain accurate records of inventory, orders, and kitchen expenses.
