About The Position

Morrison Living is hiring immediately for a CHEF, SOUS (HOURLY) (FULL TIME) position. This role involves assisting the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking foods, coordinating the activities of other food-service associates, and assuming responsibility for the kitchen in the Executive Chef's absence. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality and culinary excellence, creating memorable experiences for residents.

Requirements

• Prior professional culinary experience
• Food safety/allergen modifications experience
• Lead and/or Sous Chef experience
• Senior Living experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards, ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Supervises hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in reviews, and recommending disciplinary action.
• Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils, and cleans workstation thoroughly.
• Keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to associates and customers.
• Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
• Monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, tracks product production, consumption, and waste, and informs supervisor when supplies are low.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
