About The Position

Aramark is recruiting a Chef Manager for our culinary operations at a large manufacturing facility in Oakville, Ontario. The Chef Manager will prepare daily specials, manage the cafeteria hot line, prepare buffet caterings and oversee our micro-market outlets. We know that a Chef’s job isn’t only about the food. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll take a hands-on approach in focusing on team development, culinary expertise, safety protocol, and client relations. Our Chef Manager will also play a key role in helping us meet budget requirements and execute company-delivered programs. Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of 5 years culinary experience
  • Must have own reliable transportation as there is no public transit available
  • Ability to manage food and labour costs and have a basic understanding of business
  • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary diploma or degree is preferred
  • Experience managing in a unionized environment is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily specials and manage the cafeteria services for head office employees
  • Prepare catered meals for buffet, delivery or pick up services as required
  • Train and manage kitchen staff, coordinate culinary activities
  • Place orders, conduct inventory, schedule staff and source from various vendors
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
  • Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
