About The Position

The A220 commercial aircraft program is seeking a Technical Support Manager for the A220 Line A to join our Technical Support team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada), where you will work jointly with the technical support team and production managers. You will be part of the TSFS (Technical Support) team responsible for handling technical issues that fall outside the direct control of operators and Front-Line Managers (FLMs), while focusing on identifying, analyzing, and resolving recurring technical challenges. Providing an end-to-end (E2E) perspective at the shop floor level within the production team is a crucial aspect of the role. The team's organization is structured to promote cross-functional collaboration in an autonomous manner, supporting one another and learning collectively. Your role in technical support will be to manage ME production support for the A220 FAL Line A and be the voice of the HO ME (Head of ME) to the CDTs by integrating ME development, fabrication processes (Build Process), SLB, tooling (J&T), site services and maintenance, as well as digital and industrial innovations.

Requirements

  • You hold an academic and/or technical background in aerospace and/or management with approximately ten (10) years of experience
  • You demonstrate leadership, judgment, flexibility, and are capable of working with minimal supervision
  • You have successfully managed technical projects to ensure the optimal industrialization of a product
  • You possess strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of approximately 25 people (employees, temporary staff, and Work Packages).
  • Drive OPEX/CAPEX budgets, budgetary control, and resource capacity planning.
  • Guarantee compliance with legal and airworthiness requirements (POA approval maintenance) as well as brand image standards.
  • Maintain the team's technical skill levels despite staff turnover (in connection with the ME Academy).
  • Manage Manufacturing Engineering (ME) support for the A220 production line (FAL Line A in Mirabel).
  • Resolve recurring and complex technical issues escalated by the workshop.
  • Optimize operational processes, planning, and production control to achieve Industrial Excellence.
  • Deploy performance improvement plans (ramp-up, cycle reduction, cost convergence).
  • Ensure the performance of the line balancing process (Synchronized Line Balancing - SLB) and support the Run @ Rate (R@R) exercise.
  • Supervise work orders and technical modification requests per station.
  • Coordinate improvements related to tooling (J&T), maintenance, and plant layout.
  • Support digital transformation by introducing new digital tools and eliminating roadblocks.
  • Represent the voice of the Head of ME to the tour directors (CDTs) and ensure the link with the Airbus ME community in Europe.
  • Foster cross-functional synergy with key stakeholders (Tooling, Maintenance, Logistics, Ground Tests, etc.).
  • Share best practices within the A220 program to ensure consistency of operations.
  • Instill the Airbus project management culture (LBIP process, OP commitments).
