Chef/ Director needed for School Food Service
About The Position
We are seeking a Chef/Director for our school food service program in the Delray Beach, FL area. This is a part-time, Monday through Friday position with a day shift, working 6 hours daily. The ideal candidate will have a fun and outgoing personality, enjoy working with children, staff, and faculty, and possess strong attention to detail. Creativity in presentation and menu development, adhering to NSLP guidelines, is essential. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess proper documentation to work in schools is required. Occasional catering on weeknights and weekends may be necessary.
Requirements
- Strong culinary experience is required.
- Proficient in using various forms of technology, namely Google and Microsoft products and point of sale systems.
- ServSafe® Manager Certificate
- Must obtain proper documentation to work in schools.
- Able to lift 50lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Prior food service management experience is ideal.
- Willing to work an occasional catering on a weeknight and weekend.
- Some travel may be involved.
- Excellent time and people management skills needed.
- This is a client facing role so candidate should be personable and comfortable with regular client interactions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all catering events for school.
- Oversee staffing needs.
- Report to Area Supervisor on a daily basis.
- Ensure that all safety and food handling procedures are being followed.
- Use of personal protection equipment (PPE) at all times.
