About The Position

As a Plants Project Manager, you will coordinate engineering activities within assigned projects to support the efficient and cost-effective execution of work in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety and integrity requirements. The role involves overseeing engineering and design activities, developing budgets, schedules, and risk assessments, and coordinating the personnel and equipment required to execute project work. You will ensure engineering activities are developed using complete multidisciplinary information, support the development of solutions for complex project challenges, coordinate design activities with consortium partners, and provide support during installation, commissioning, and start-up activities. By managing project tasks, schedules, cost and quality measures, and addressing technical issues, you will contribute to successful project execution and the delivery of engineering solutions that support reliable power system projects.

Requirements

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Advanced education and work experience relevant to the job area.
  • Experience managing projects and processes with limited supervision.
  • Experience coordinating engineering and/or construction and commissioning activities within projects.
  • Knowledge of engineering and design coordination, budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, and risk assessment.
  • Ability to coach and review the work of lower-level professionals.
  • Ability to address difficult and complex project challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate engineering activities across disciplines within assigned projects.
  • Ensure engineering work is developed using complete multidisciplinary information.
  • Develop solutions for complex project challenges and coordinate design activities with consortium partners.
  • Support installation, commissioning, site, and start-up activities by addressing technical issues and correcting engineering errors.
  • Provide technical support during commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Support contract-related activities associated with scope changes, cost impacts, schedule impacts, and risk quantification.
  • Define project tasks and allocate work among project team members while establishing schedule, cost, and quality measures.
  • Evaluate project risks and opportunities and work with customers, officials, contractors, and suppliers to support project execution.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
