Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, product management, commerce, industrial design, operations management, or a relevant field.
  • Possess at least 5 years of relevant experience in product management, product marketing, category management, product development, or a comparable role.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector, construction materials, interior finishing products, floor covering, or a comparable environment is a significant asset.
  • Experience in market analysis, product performance analysis, product line management, positioning, profitability, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Good understanding of product management, lifecycle, profitability, and category performance issues.
  • Ability to analyze sales, margins, trends, inventory, competition, and customer needs to formulate solid recommendations.
  • Demonstrate good business judgment and the ability to recommend priorities considering commercial objectives and operational constraints.
  • Comfortable collaborating with multiple teams.
  • Available for travel in Canada and internationally, as required by the role.
  • Proficiency in French and English to collaborate with internal teams, partners, suppliers, and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Manage one or more product categories by analyzing market needs, product line performance, trends, competition, and opportunities.
  • Contribute to defining the evolution of collections, product positioning, pricing recommendations, improvements, and development projects.
  • Analyze product performance and recommend necessary additions, rationalizations, improvements, or withdrawals.
  • Actively monitor the market, trends, purchasing behaviors, and competitive movements.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, improvement, or differentiation for the assigned category.
  • Collaborate with R&D, purchasing, supply chain, operations, quality, sales, and marketing to ensure alignment between market needs and organizational capabilities.
  • Contribute to product development processes and support launches.
  • Support sales teams in understanding products, their positioning, and their competitive advantages.
  • Perform all other related tasks.
