The Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino is now partnering with the Rouxbe Cooking School to offer culinary associates engaging online training opportunities to help grow their careers. Through Rouxbe's self-paced online platform and culinary training curriculum, Marriott associates with all levels of culinary experience will have access to hundreds of well-designed and visually appealing lessons they can immediately apply to their jobs. This role involves preparing special meals or substitute items, regulating oven temperatures, pulling food from freezer storage to thaw, ensuring proper portioning, arrangement, and garnish, maintaining food logs, monitoring food quality and quantity, communicating needs during busy periods, informing the Chef of excess food items for specials, and informing Food & Beverage staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items. The position also requires assisting management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model, and adhering to all company and safety policies. It also involves anticipating and addressing guest service needs, speaking professionally, developing positive working relationships, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, reaching overhead and below the knees, and moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors may also be performed.
