About The Position

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to report to the Controller and oversee the entire accounting cycle while supporting budgeting, financial analysis, and continuous process improvement. This position is ideal for a very organized individual who values collaboration and delivering accurate and timely results. This role suits someone who prefers to support and guide others, sets clear expectations, and builds trust gradually while maintaining high standards.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in a manufacturing environment
  • Professional Diploma (or equivalent) in Accounting
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience with ERP systems (Infor/Syteline an asset)
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and resourcefulness
  • Solid knowledge of accounting practices and financial analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Diplomatic, empathetic, and customer-oriented approach
  • Process improvement experience
  • Experience supervising accounting staff
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French (written and spoken)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the full accounting cycle operates according to established procedures and timelines, including: Accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, credit cards, expense reports, commissions, and sales taxes
  • General Ledger accuracy and compliance with internal and external requirements
  • Period-end and year-end activities, including journal entries and reporting for external accountants
  • Preparation of quarterly financial statements and financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Participation in the budgeting process by providing accurate data and forecasts
  • Acting as a point of contact for internal stakeholders’ accounting and financial questions
  • Identifying and supporting process improvement opportunities, including leveraging IT solutions
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to resolve cross-departmental issues effectively
  • Contributing to the documentation of processes and procedures, along with related administrative follow-up tasks
  • Manage a team of accounting technicians and be responsible for: Setting KPIs, goals, and objectives
  • Ensuring consistent performance and engagement
  • Maintaining appropriate staffing levels
  • Providing training, coaching, mentorship, and guidance
  • Overseeing recruitment, performance management, and disciplinary processes when required
