About The Position

The Niemann Harvest Market Cheese Specialist duties include but are not limited to providing excellent customer service, gaining product knowledge, rotation of product, merchandising, controlling shrink and working in a safe manner while fostering the Niemann Harvest Market culture. This role involves delivering superior guest service and ensuring absolute customer satisfaction by learning and using the three E’s: Engagement, Educate, Empowerment. The Cheese Specialist acts as the "Expert" in cheese, cheese pairings, and cheese accoutrements, understanding the shopper’s cheese application and helping them determine the best option for their needs. Responsibilities include knowing the use and taste of products offered, performing quality assurance checks of the department, proper handling and rotation of product, and executing day-to-day operational procedures to ensure stock level, inventory, and cleanliness. The role also involves promoting sales, providing samples, and adhering to all Health Code, store, department, safety policies and procedures, acting as a safety role model. Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
One to three months related experience and/or training
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Associates of organization
Basic math concepts (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication), weights and measures
Food Handler’s Certification as required by State Law provided at store level
