About The Position

As a Cheese Maker at HIL, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality cheese products that meet our company’s standards and customer expectations. You will oversee the entire cheese-making process, from selecting and preparing raw ingredients to monitoring fermentation, aging, and packaging. Your expertise will ensure consistency, safety, and flavor in every batch, contributing directly to the brand’s reputation and market success. Collaboration with quality control and production teams will be essential to optimize processes and troubleshoot any issues that arise. Ultimately, your work will support the company’s commitment to delivering exceptional dairy products to consumers across the United States.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in cheese making or dairy production.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations, including HACCP and GMP.
  • Ability to operate and maintain cheese production equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Communication and collaboration skills are used daily to coordinate with quality assurance and maintenance teams, ensuring compliance and resolving issues quickly.

  • Experience with artisan or specialty cheese production.
  • Familiarity with quality control procedures and laboratory testing methods.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute the cheese production process, including milk preparation, curd formation, cutting, cooking, molding, pressing, and aging.
  • Monitor and control fermentation and aging conditions to ensure product quality and safety standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation in compliance with food safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to conduct regular testing and inspections of raw materials and finished products.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to uphold hygiene and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve production issues promptly to minimize downtime and product loss.
  • Assist in developing and refining cheese recipes and production techniques to improve product quality and efficiency.
