About The Position

The Cheese Maintenance Group Leader is responsible for overseeing and directing the crew performing troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on plant equipment. This role ensures the daily scheduled plan is followed and facilitated, and that Maintenance Techs achieve 80% of their planned work hours for their shift. The Group Leader performs area walk-throughs to ensure daily work is conducted, including tracking repairable items and their disposition. They must operate in a manner consistent with safe operating procedures, provide direction to the crew and equipment according to Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and are responsible for fabrication or modification of equipment to Leprino specs and standards. This role also includes the installation of new or used equipment, prompt response to equipment breakdowns or downtime, assisting in shift coverage, and performing all repairs to plant equipment. The Group Leader must be able to prioritize work and maintain a safe work environment. Other duties may be assigned by the Manager or Supervisor.

Requirements

Must demonstrate knowledge via standardized maintenance questionnaire.
Welding skills including: arc, tig, mig, and oxy/ace.
Ability to design, layout and fabricate.
Ability to read blue prints and P&ID drawing.
Ability to work well with outside contractors.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
Ability to operate a forklift.
Knowledge of proper safe use of hand tools.
Demonstrated leadership ability.
Lead by Example.
Demonstrated strong commitment to safety.
Knowledge of GMPs.
Must be able to fulfill physical functional requirements of position per ADA.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Ensure daily scheduled plan is being followed and facilitated.
Ensure all Maintenance Techs have achieved 80% of their planned work hours for their shift.
Performs area walk through of dept to ensure daily work is being conducted.
Tracking of repairable(s) and the disposition process.
Operate in a manner consistent with safe operating procedures.
Providing direction to the crew and equipment in accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Fabrication or modification of equipment to Leprino specs and standards.
Installation of new or used equipment.
Promptly respond to any equipment break downs or downtime when applicable.
Assist in shift coverage when applicable.
All repairs to plant equipment.
Able to prioritize work.
Maintaining a safe work environment.
Perform any other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
