About The Position

The Checkpoint Coordinator reviews driver applications and supporting records to determine whether applicants meet the company’s Driver Qualification criteria. This role orders required reports, reviews the results, saves documentation in the appropriate systems, and records each applicant as pre-approved, pending, or denied. When information is missing or requires follow-up, the coordinator documents what is needed and requests additional information.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6+ months of customer service experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Word
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to apply established criteria consistently when reviewing records
  • Resourceful
  • Sound critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify missing or conflicting information and determine the appropriate next step
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong organization and time-management skills, including the ability to shift priorities as work demands change
  • Ability to remain calm is stressful situations
  • Excellent phone etiquette
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Trucking industry experience
  • Experience reviewing detailed information, entering data, or maintaining electronic records
  • Administration experience; email crafting and answering phones in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience using Tenstreet, HireRight, PSP, the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse, or similar applicant-tracking and screening systems

Responsibilities

  • Review driver applications in Tenstreet for completeness and determine whether they are ready to move to the checkpoint review
  • Order required reports through the applicable systems, including HireRight, the Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP), and the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
  • Save application documents and report results in the appropriate systems, including Tenstreet, HireRight, and D360
  • Complete checkpoint reviews by examining motor vehicle records (MVRs), PSP reports, Clearinghouse responses, references, criminal records, and other required driver documents
  • Enter and update driver information in Tenstreet and D360, document any missing information, and record whether the application is pre-approved, pending, or denied based on Driver Qualification criteria
  • Review Clearinghouse responses, document the result in the driver packet, and approve drivers who meet the applicable criteria
  • Monitor the pending criminal-record list, save criminal records in D360, contact the agent when additional information is needed, and deny applicants whose records are disqualified under company criteria
  • Place applications that have been inactive for more than 30 days on hold and file the related packets in the designated hold location
  • Periodically remove outdated hold and denied packets from the designated files and place them in secure shred containers
