About The Position

The Chauffeur-Driver is responsible for driving a truck according to the planned route, loading and unloading the truck, and handling transportation documents during delivery. This role is performed in a manner that reflects Brenntag’s Core Values, within regulatory requirements and company policies, programs, and expectations. The driver ensures a safe work environment at all times and reports any unsafe conditions immediately to District Management. They pick up and deliver bulk and non-bulk chemical products safely and conscientiously, maintain their assigned vehicle in good mechanical, safe, and clean condition, and complete all required paperwork precisely and in a timely manner. The driver also works towards meeting business goals, supports the commercial group, schedules activities for timely completion, and keeps the business informed of activity results. Additional tasks and special projects may be assigned by the Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • English fluency, written and verbal
  • Comfortable with technology typically found in the Transportation Industry - electronic logging, online training, telemetry
  • Completion of High School Education
  • Holds valid/relevant license
  • Air brake certificate required
  • Clean driver's abstract
  • All candidates must provide their driver's abstract before doing the road test
  • CRC with satisfactory status
  • Minimum 2-years' experience handling and transporting hazmat chemicals - pumping, air pad displacement
  • Must have a good understanding of the Highway Traffic Act as it reflects on truck driving
  • Experienced and Knowledgeable of TDG requirements
  • Experienced and Knowledgeable of WHMIS requirements

Responsibilities

  • Drive truck according to defined tour
  • Load and unload truck
  • Handle transportation documents at delivery
  • Perform role in a manner that is reflective of Brenntag’s Core Values, within regulatory requirements and company policies, programs and expectations
  • Ensure a safe work environment at all times, reporting unsafe conditions immediately to District Management
  • Pick up and deliver both bulk and non-bulk chemical products, as required, in a safe and conscientious manner
  • Keep the vehicle that he/she is assigned in a mechanically sound, safe, and clean condition
  • Complete all paperwork such as log books, truck inspection forms, run sheets, bills of lading, etc. precisely and in a timely manner
  • Work toward meeting business goals and shares successes with others
  • Make every effort to support commercial group at all times
  • Schedule activities such that they are completed in a timely manner
  • Make every effort to keep the business informed of results of activities
  • Complete other tasks and special projects as assigned by the Operations Manager
