About The Position

Advanced Systems Group, LLC is hiring a Chat Moderator to help create a positive, welcoming community during live streams. The role moderates comments according to client-specific guidelines, addresses rule violations and disruptive content, and helps maintain the integrity and reputation of the live stream. The moderator also supports and mentors fellow moderators and assists with training. This is a flex, onsite position in Midtown Manhattan, New York, with variable hours based on business needs. Occasional early, late, or event-based support may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Excellent English language proficiency.
• Prior experience in content moderation, customer support, or community management.
• Familiarity with live streaming platforms and chat moderation tools.
• Comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring multitasking and quick decision-making.
• Ability to be assertive, discerning, and decisive when enforcing chat rules and judging content appropriateness.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities during live broadcasts and maintain composure under pressure.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and escalating issues as needed.

Responsibilities

• Moderate live comments in accordance with client-specific guidelines.
• Remove or edit comments containing insults, offensive language, inappropriate content, or spam.
• Monitor chats proactively for potential issues or disruptions and act promptly when necessary.
• Address violations of chat rules and community guidelines to maintain the integrity and reputation of the live stream.
• Carry out moderation and training according to the project schedule.
• Support other moderators, mentor new moderators, and train them in the role.
• Ban users or comments that violate tenets during HVE.
• Use judgment and discretion to determine whether content and user interactions are appropriate.
