About The Position

The Ford Racing Chassis Team is seeking an independent, empowered and passionate Chassis engineer to lead the Chassis system integration for an off-road vehicle program. Ford Racing is where the company's story began, and this role contributes to bringing Ford's track-tested edge into every vehicle built. The team is looking for individuals who are competitors, innovators, or performance obsessives to help write the next chapter in Ford Racing's history.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering required
  • 4+ Years of experience in Chassis engineering including delivery of 1 completed program
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • 4+ Years of experience using CAD and/or other visualization tools
  • Understanding of program delivery processes / GPDS
  • Working knowledge of Teamcenter, Vis Mockup, 3Dx, CATIA, DFMEA, FEDE, FEDEBOM, WERS
  • Fabrication/mockup skills to demonstrate proof of concept
  • Understanding of tolerance stack ups/DVA
  • Familiarity with manufacturing requirements and Plant experience preferred
  • Independent self-starter that can connect analytical tools with physical hardware and vehicle
  • Racing Passion for Racing vehicles
  • Launch experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead system level design integration of Chassis components for Ford Racing
  • Manage vehicle attribute, VO requirements, supplier manufacturing requirements, and commodity compatibility to bring a complete feasible chassis system together
  • Work with individual commodity D&R’s to stay up to speed on component design progression
  • Lead FSS (Full Service Suppliers) and/or other internal/external resources to deliver subject programs
  • Assure conformance to the Ford Racing DNA all applicable Ford & regulatory requirements
  • Develop innovative solutions for Racing vehicles – including design, CAE analysis, and testing
  • Support issue resolution and design change management during the prototype build and launch builds
  • Interface and maintain collaborative relationship with Core Chassis Organization
  • Support current production and quality efforts
  • Support cost optimization efforts
