Chassis Structure Suspension Steering VDDV (CAE) Engineer

General MotorsWarren, MI
Hybrid

About The Position

This role involves conducting design assessments using CAE methods to support vehicle development and validation. The engineer will perform structural analysis of components and systems, focusing on stiffness (static and dynamic), strength, durability, and noise and vibration performance. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop designs that meet customer requirements and participation in innovation projects by supporting the development of virtual tools and methods. A key responsibility is leading the execution of common virtual strategies for Chassis components and systems to support vehicle program development timelines. The engineer will develop engineering designs, present results with impactful recommendations based on analysis, and participate in Chassis Product Development Teams (PDTs). Additionally, the role includes leading all aspects of coordinated supplier CAE activities and participating in CAE Focus Groups to stay updated on the latest CAE methods, tools, and trends. There is also involvement in the development of new or revised analysis procedures, methods, and tools (e.g., software, applications, scripts/coding). This position operates under a Hybrid Work Policy, requiring 3 days in-office and 2 days remote, with the ability to report to a local office.
