About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled chassis fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced expertise in manufacturing-level weldments and be an expert in the configuration, design, and deployment of welding fixtures to ensure the precise location of components. You will be responsible for fabricating complex assemblies from technical blueprints, utilizing both modular hole-grid tables and dedicated hard fixtures to achieve exact alignment and manage thermal distortion.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of professional manufacturing fabrication experience in a senior-level welding role.
  • Proven mastery of blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and weld symbols.
  • Deep practical knowledge of fixturing mechanics, clamping systems (toggle, pneumatic, screw), and setup ergonomics.
  • Strong metallurgical understanding of thermal expansion and structural restraint techniques.
  • Ability to weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Experienced knowledge of welding, including MIG, TIG, and tack welding.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule.
  • Knowledge of templates, measurements, and rules relating to vehicle standards.
  • U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident or U.S. Person Status Required.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional credentials from organizations like the American Welding Society.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials, and work in demanding shop or construction environments.
  • Extensive hands-on trade experience, often spanning several years in manufacturing, industrial, or construction settings

Responsibilities

  • Set up, configure, and utilize custom and modular tooling fixtures to securely lock workpieces to master datums, ensuring absolute repeatability across production runs.
  • Employ use of CMM Arm for locating, aligning and positioning. Using hard pins, V-blocks, and edge locators to eliminate manual measuring and achieve precise part geometry.
  • Implement aggressive distortion management strategies, including rigid clamping sequences to combat thermal shrinkage and prevent warping.
  • Execute high-quality welds (TIG, MIG, Flux-Core) on various metals and shapes according to strict blueprint engineering specifications and tolerances.
  • Inspect finished weldments against master reference points to verify compliance with structural and dimensional design constraints.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to level I and II fabricators
