The Charter School Financial Professional (Consultant) is a career-oriented position created to enhance the quality of the services provided to clients of Prestige School Solutions. The Consultant is accountable to and receives direction from the company's Leadership Team. The Consultant works collaboratively with the firm's partners and with fellow consultants and data entry personnel. The position will require a focus on the quality of the output produced by Prestige School Solutions.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience in governmental and/or non-profit accounting
  • At least 3-10 years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, finance or banking field
  • An advanced degree in any of the applied business sciences fields (accounting, banking, information technology, management, etc.)
  • Eligible for fidelity bonding (as determined by a satisfactory consumer-credit rating)
  • Superior customer service and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the proper coding of all payroll, accounts payable, cash receipts, cash disbursements and other accounting transactions related to assigned charter school clients
  • Communicating with assigned charter school clients and their agents, vendors and employees
  • Overseeing the timely and proper processing of all assigned client payroll (and related taxes and insurance transactions) as well as scheduling payment of accounts receivable
  • Monitoring client budgets
  • Preparing monthly financial reports for client board members and school managers
  • Maintaining real-time financial dashboards of client schools
  • Attending client board meetings (virtually) to deliver budget reports and respond to questions from board members.
  • Creating, reviewing and analyzing client operating budgets on a monthly basis
  • For those clients that are facing budget shortfalls, the Consultant will develop strategies to remedy shortfalls and provide competent advice and counsel to the client regarding the implementation of said strategies
  • Other duties as assigned by the Leadership Team.
  • Facilitate the audit process for each assigned school by maintaining accurate and reliable financial records for assigned client schools
