About The Position

Full-time Charter Drivers are responsible for safely transporting clients and providing superior customer service. Drivers must display strong communication skills, both written and oral, in interaction with other drivers, maintenance, operations, and the public they serve. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, patient, and dedicated. Shifts can include days, evenings, weekends and overnights.

Requirements

Class 1 or 2 driver’s license preferred; will provide license upgrade training for other license classes
Possess, or be willing to obtain Q Endorsement
Organized, punctual, and reliable
Team player with a positive attitude
Calm, pleasant, and helpful manner
Excellent driving skills and habits
Map reading ability
Knowledge of attractions and venues in and out of town
Ability to communicate effectively with all parties
Commitment to excellence in customer service

Types of equipment driven can include transit, coach, and school bus; training provided

Responsibilities

Complete charters as assigned
Check the charter waybill to confirm details
Drive safely and responsibly; be prepared for all road conditions
Ensure compliance with Hours of Service
Manage workload – ensure all details related to the assigned charter are understood
Pre-and-post trip checks of the unit each time it is used
Complete all applicable paperwork
Maintain radio contact and use proper radio protocol
Manage passenger behavior by quickly solving problems
Communicate with dispatch at your scheduled time, prepared and ready to go
Fuel bus as required; fuel cards are assigned to the individual
Maintain a clean bus
Complete and submit DVCRs
Drop off or pick up units when requested by Operations or Maintenance
Assist with school runs, as needed
