Requirements

Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of clerical duties involved in maintaining patient medical records to include filing, retrieving and distributing medical records, and reports in accordance with established policies and procedures for Medical Records.
- Retrieves medical records for upcoming patient clinic visits, and reviews record for completeness
- Calls referring physician’s office, appropriate clinical laboratories or patient to obtain any missing reports or information necessary for clinic visit. Ensures completeness of record before patient office visit and reports missing information to appropriate office staff
- Sorts, files, and collates a variety of medical record information
- Files and retrieves medical records by alphabet in accordance with established color-coded filing system and predetermined priorities; researches lost or missing records in accordance with established procedures
- Assembles patient medical record as required
- Corresponds via phone, email, and fax
