About The Position

Finning Canada is seeking a Chargehand to join their team in Whitehorse. This role involves overseeing customer repair work, managing the quantity and quality of work within the branch, ensuring safety standards are maintained, and acting as a key technical resource for shop technicians. The position also includes new employee orientation and assisting leadhands and technicians with machine overhauls and large projects.

Requirements

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification
• Well-rounded experience as a Journeyperson Technician
• Completion, or in the process of completing, Finning S-Level courses
• Computer literate
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Outstanding product knowledge
• Leadership skills
• Willingness to contribute positively to a quality team environment
• Ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator

Responsibilities

• On-going implementation of customer service commitment
• Allocation of work
• Customer repair work
• Handling customer calls
• Monitoring both the quantity and quality of work within the branch
• Ensuring safety standards are maintained
• New employee orientation
• Assist leadhands and technicians with managing machine overalls and large projects
• Act as a key technical resource for shop technicians
