About The Position

Seeking a Charge Nurse for Baptist Health Floyd, Women's Health Services. This is a part-time position (12 Hours Weekly) with day shifts (7a-7p). The Charge Nurse will act as a resource nurse for the department, providing leadership and coordination of care during designated shifts. This entry-level leadership role involves working alongside the team, providing direct patient care, determining staffing needs, responding to departmental concerns, addressing staff issues, and coordinating patient flow. The Charge Nurse has immediate oversight of employees performing similar or related work. About the Department: Women's Health Services is located on the same floor as the Labor and Delivery unit and is a 19-bed unit that utilizes a couplet care model following AWHONN staffing guidelines. The unit also cares for female post-operative patients who have undergone gynecological or bariatric procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved nursing program, holding a minimum of an ASN.
  • Current Indiana or compact state RN License.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
  • One year of nursing experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in area of specialty preferred.
  • NRP certification required (obtained within 6 months of hire).
  • S.T.A.B.L.E certification required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
  • Low Risk Neonatal Nursing RNC-LRN (National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing Specialties) required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
  • Professional/Specialty certification required as per unit/department standards.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as a resource nurse for the department.
  • Coordination of care on designated shifts.
  • Providing leadership to staff members in the area of patient care.
  • Working alongside the team and providing direct patient care.
  • Determining needed staffing fluctuations during shifts.
  • Responding to departmental concerns.
  • Addressing immediate staff issues.
  • Coordinating patient flow.
  • Immediate oversight of employees while performing the same or directly related work as those the position leads.
