About The Position

Seeking Charge Nurse! Baptist Health Floyd, NICU. Part-time (24 Hours Weekly), Days (7am-7pm). Benefit Eligible. Sign On Bonus Eligible for Experienced External Candidates Only. Responsible for acting as a resource nurse for the department. This is an entry-level leadership position responsible for the coordination of care on designated shifts. He/she will provide leadership to the staff members of the unit in the area of patient care. This position will work alongside the team and provide direct patient care while determining needed staffing fluctuations during shifts, responding to departmental concerns, address immediate staff issues and coordinate patient flow. This position has immediate oversight of employees while performing the same or directly related work as those the position leads. The NICU provides level II care to infants as early as 32 weeks' gestation or 1,500 grams and above. The NICU is comprised of 6 rooms. The nurses treat Vapotherm and bubble CPAP ventilated patients up to 24 hours, PPN administration, umbilical lines, central lines, NAS monitoring and care. The NICU also accepts readmit infants from home for up to 30 days. There are three Neonatal NPs on staff, with at least one available 24/7.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved nursing program, holding a minimum of an ASN.
  • Current Indiana or compact state RN License.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
  • NRP certification required (obtained within 6 months of hire).
  • S.T.A.B.L.E certification required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
  • Low Risk Neonatal Nursing RNC-LRN (National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing Specialties) required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
  • One year of nursing experience required.
  • Professional/Specialty certification required as per unit/department standards.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in area of specialty preferred.
