About The Position

This unit includes 15 labor and delivery recovery suites, three surgical suites and four post anesthesia recovery beds. As part of MercyOne Children’s Hospital, the labor and delivery unit offers a variety of birthing methods and pain management options. Provides individualized, high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages. Uses a team approach to delegate and coordinate patient care at admission, transfer, and discharge. Independently delivers nursing care using the Nurse Practice Act, Mercy Medical Center policies, nursing standards, ethical principles, and professional judgment. Works rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
Current Iowa RN license, (current IL license if working in IL) required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is required within three (3) months of hire.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within three (3) months of hire.
Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter for both Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training is required within six (6) months of hire.
Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health and MercyOne.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Specialty practice certification is preferred.
