About The Position

Baptist Health is hiring a Charge Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team at Baptist South in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time weekend day shift opportunity working Saturday and Sunday plus one additional 12-hour shift during the week. This role requires participation in call with a 40-minute response time and qualifies for competitive call and differential pay. The Surgical Services team at Baptist South provides high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • 2–3 years Surgical Services Experience (required)
  • Operating Room experience (required)
  • Hospital experience (required)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (required)
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Charge Nurse or leadership experience (preferred)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (preferred)
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide perioperative nursing care using the nursing process
  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise patient care
  • Coordinate care provided by ancillary services
  • Include patients and families in developing individualized plans of care
  • Coordinate and prepare assigned operating room cases
  • Assess patient care needs and anticipate procedural requirements
  • Maintain patient safety and ensure accurate documentation throughout procedures
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement; organization; supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care provided by ancillary services.
  • Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care.
  • Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care.
  • Responsibilities include: Coordination and preparation of assigned room/case, assessment of patient care needs and the anticipation of needs of the case.
  • This position requires call.
