About The Position

Baptist Health is hiring a Charge Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team at Baptist South in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time weekend day shift opportunity working Saturday and Sunday plus one additional 12-hour shift during the week. This role requires participation in call with a 40-minute response time and qualifies for competitive call and differential pay. The Surgical Services team at Baptist South provides high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Requirements

2–3 years Surgical Services Experience (required)
Operating Room experience (required)
Hospital experience (required)
Associate of Science in Nursing (required)
Licensed Registered Nurse (required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) (required)

Nice To Haves

Charge Nurse or leadership experience (preferred)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (preferred)
Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) (preferred)

Responsibilities

Provide perioperative nursing care using the nursing process
Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise patient care
Coordinate care provided by ancillary services
Include patients and families in developing individualized plans of care
Coordinate and prepare assigned operating room cases
Assess patient care needs and anticipate procedural requirements
Maintain patient safety and ensure accurate documentation throughout procedures
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams
Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement; organization; supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care provided by ancillary services.
Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care.
Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care.
Responsibilities include: Coordination and preparation of assigned room/case, assessment of patient care needs and the anticipation of needs of the case.
This position requires call.
