Get to Know Your Team: Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved RN program
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience
  • New Jersey Professional Registered Nurse
  • NRP Instructor Certification
  • STABLE Certification
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the clinical and operational leader for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit during the assigned shift, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, family-centered care to critically ill and high-risk newborns.
  • Provides direct oversight of daily patient care operations, staff coordination, resource allocation, patient flow, and clinical decision-making while serving as the primary clinical resource for the interdisciplinary team.
  • Partners with the Nurse Manager/ Director of Women's Services, neonatologists, obstetric providers, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and ancillary departments to promote evidence-based practice, regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, and exceptional patient experiences.
  • Coordinating admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Responding to neonatal emergencies and high-risk deliveries.
  • Mentoring and coaching nursing staff.
  • Ensuring appropriate staffing and productivity.
  • Supporting performance improvement initiatives.
  • Fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, patient safety, and continuous professional development.
  • Functions as a role model for clinical excellence and leadership while promoting the mission, vision, and values of Pascack Valley Medical Center.
