About The Position

The RN Neuro Science unit at Frye Regional Medical Center is a 20-Bed unit with a patient population including, but not limited to, spine/ neck/ head surgery, stroke and seizure. The unit offers self-scheduling, 12-hour shifts, and every-other-weekend rotation, helping promote flexibility and work-life balance. Nurses gain valuable experience caring for a diverse patient population while working alongside experienced leaders and a strong interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Current state RN license
• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS are required within six months of hire.
• 2-4 years of Neuro/ Ortho RN experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• Charge Nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
