About The Position

Our tight-knit NICU unit is looking for top skilled nurses. This is a PRN Nights position at Texas Health Dallas, a fast-paced Level III NICU that provides care for patients from 22 weeks onward. The unit is equipped with cooling and High Frequency Ventilator capabilities. Supportive leadership is available, offering opportunities for certification in High-Risk Neonatal Nursing. Texas Health Dallas has been a leading healthcare provider in North Texas for over half a century, serving the community since 1966. It is an 875-bed, Magnet-designated, full-service hospital specializing in cancer care, cardiology, neurosciences, women’s services, and emergency medicine. Requirements

  • Diploma in Nursing required or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
  • One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
  • RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • Two years of NICU experience strongly preferred
  • Desire to be trained in transport

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
