This position is responsible for providing direct nursing care and supervision to clients, monitoring and documenting their physical and mental condition, administering and documenting medications as prescribed, maintaining accurate medical records, supporting the admission process to ensure timely placement of clients, participating in treatment team meetings and shift reports, and responding promptly and appropriately to incidents or unusual occurrences while ensuring quality client care and compliance with facility standards. The Kern Psychiatric Health Facility is a 16-bed facility serving children and youth (ages 5-17) dealing with acute psychiatric symptoms. The clinical services move clients through five phases: admission; engagement; learning; stabilization and linkage to resources and aftercare. Length of stay is typically up to 72 hours, but may be extended if additional evaluation or treatment is needed. We offer intensive treatment programs with individualized care plans.
