About The Position

The Charge Nurse (LVN or RN) provides resident care and supports resident well-being in a dynamic care environment. The role guides Nurse Aides, administers medications, implements care plans, performs treatments, transcribes physician orders, and documents care and nursing assessments. The Charge Nurse also participates in shift reports, educates support staff on resident care needs and nursing procedures, promotes workplace safety, and responds to staffing shortages by arranging replacement staff.

Requirements

Hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) credential in good standing.
Demonstrate excellent technical, assessment, and documentation skills.
Have strong communication skills and the ability to organize workflows effectively.
Respond efficiently to emergencies and demonstrate attention to detail.
Be trustworthy, consistently attend work, multitask effectively, and maintain a professional and cooperative demeanor.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance to Nurse Aides to ensure residents receive appropriate care.
Safely administer resident medications as prescribed.
Implement resident care plans in accordance with company policies, federal guidelines, and physician orders.
Deliver treatments as required to support resident health and comfort.
Accurately and promptly transcribe physician orders.
Maintain timely and accurate documentation in resident charts and complete required nursing assessments.
Participate in shift reports to support communication and continuity of care.
Implement nursing policies and procedures and educate staff about resident care needs.
Promote a safe working environment by following infection control and body mechanics procedures.
Respond to staffing shortages by arranging replacement staff as necessary.
