About The Position
The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long term care facility located in beautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care. We are currently seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to work in our nursing department as a Charge Nurse- M.D.S Coordinator. This position will ensure resident assessments (M.D.S). Experience with M.D.S/R.A.I. in long-term care is a plus. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm. The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment to meet our commitment to serve Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. This agency is prohibited from hiring employees with convictions identified in 906 KAR 1:190. A fingerprint- supported national background check will be conducted prior to an offer of employment. This position, in Hopkins county has an approved Locality Premium of $14.36 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).
Requirements
- Must have two years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Must be licensed in Kentucky as a registered nurse or possess a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
- Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with M.D.S/R.A.I. in long-term care is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Initiates M.D.S and Care Plan process for new residents
- Ensures compliance with State, Federal and VA guidelines relating to M.D.S and Care Planning
- Administer medications and treatments, as well as helping to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of our Veterans.
