Charge Nurse (RN)
About The Position
This position is available as either part-time or full-time, based on the candidate's preference. The Charge Nurse provides clinical leadership and coordination for the Inpatient Acute and Emergency Departments, supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care in our rural Critical Access Hospital and Level IV Trauma Emergency Department. This position serves as a daily leader and role model for the nursing team, promoting a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment. During times of high patient census the Charge Nurse will also provide hands-on patient care.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), required.
- Current Registered Nurse License issued by the Kansas State Board of Nursing, or multi-state compact license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification, and Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) Certification are required. Can obtain within 6 months of hire.
- At least 2 years of previous hands on experience in the Emergency Department (preferred), or Acute Nursing (required).
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in Charge Nurse role, preferred.
