About The Position

The Charge Nurse (RN) - Rehabilitation position is a full-time role working day shifts. At TGH Rehabilitation Hospital, the focus is on prioritizing employee well-being to enable exceptional patient care. As a Charge Nurse, you will be a trusted partner in patients' recovery journeys, supporting staff, physicians, and other providers on clinical issues. You will assess, prioritize, and direct activities to meet unit demands, and under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, you will foster professional practice and care delivery models by directing, coaching, and mentoring nursing staff. This role involves implementing unit-specific strategies and colleague-specific practice remediation to achieve clinical quality and patient safety outcomes. You will also collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer on clinical development and serve as clinical support when the Chief Nursing Officer is unavailable.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited registered nurse program with current licensure in the state.
  • Mandatory child and adult abuse certificate required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in rehabilitative or acute care setting and/or demonstrates leadership ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, evaluate and direct activities of clinical personnel.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, in English.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills required.
  • CPR/BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Works in coordination with nursing leadership.
  • Serves as the first line support for staff, physicians, and other related providers on clinical issues.
  • Provides assessment, prioritization, and direction of activities to meet the challenging demands of the hospital units.
  • Assumes accountability for fostering established professional practice and care delivery models through directing, coaching, and mentoring nursing staff, following the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer.
  • Implements unit-specific strategies and colleague-specific practice remediation to achieve specific clinical quality and patient safety outcomes.
  • Collaborates with the Chief Nursing Officer on clinical development (employee relations, individual behaviors, physician relationships, etc.).
  • Serves as the clinical support for the department when the Chief Nursing Officer is unavailable, along with other Nursing leadership.
